A few years ago I was asked to paint an image for a prayer card to give comfort to mothers who, for whatever reason, lost a baby before or at birth. This watercolor is one of two that I created for that card. It was meant to give a message of comfort, forgiveness, and hope.This painting is dedicated to my mother, who gave birth to a stillborn daughter, Sheila Anne, and mourned her loss the rest of her life. I believe we will be reunited with our lost love ones when we finally leave this earth. Who better than Mary, the Queen of Mothers, to lovingly greet a mother with that tiny child she lost ?
